Whena trial is in process, sometimes law enforcement will help and assist when thedefendant has been charged.
Law enforcement are looked at as community leaders, they solve problems, and most importantly try to keep every safe. Prosecutorswork very closely with law enforcement because they do cross-examine thedefendant and they can testify about evidence that can be collected from thecrime scene. Their testimony can also be very important for a case especiallyif they are looked at as respectful, responsible, and honest people, so whatthey say can have a huge impact on case. Jurisdiction should have outsidepower to decide whether or not to take over when a police officer is chargedwith wrongdoing. Most prosecutors have close relationships with police officersfor trial and court hearings. So, when a police officer is charged withwrongdoing it would make sense to have someone who knows the police officer themost to guarantee a fair trial.
Prosecutors would make a fairdecision because they are familiar with the court process and know it needs tobe a fair trial. There might be some biased because of knowing the policeofficer very well and having to work with them, it could be seen as biased. But, having someone make a testimony against a police officer, it should be avery fair trial and make sure that the conviction is accurate with the evidenceand details clear to be able to charge the police officer. Having an outside orspecial prosecutor should not make the decision biased.
