TRIO are government effort programs in the United Statesintended to recognize and provide needy service for people from disadvantagedbackgrounds like me. Being former refugee, I recognize refugees desperate need fortalents to show with possible solutions working towards educationalgoals. I represent that.
Coming from refugee background my greatest challengeis to uplift the living stander of other refugees around the world. The need ofguide for talents to show cannot be under-foreground; hence my application tothis scholarship and TRIO will not let it to be under-foreground.After living without hope, I am now seeking scholarshipsupport to continue studying Bachelor level. My interest in theater art and technology from my lasting interest touplift the refugee’s lifestyle. Appropriately, my current research interests intheater art and technology require an underrating of how newer technology andtheater work for refugee who does not know about it. As a Bachelor’s student in the University ofVermont, I intend to learn about theater technical aspect and technologies helpto uplift the refugee’s lifestyle from the perspective of someone born andraised and does not have hope in refugee camp. I will bring an exceptional and genuinely necessary viewpoint to myBachelor program with the help of TRIO.
I will take technical and hypothetical learning from my Bachelor programand help of TRIO to learn it with me to different refugee’s camp to assist myprofession objectives as a helping hand to uplift the life of many refugees. To argument my hypothetical understanding of theater andtechnology, I worked with Surwat theater as acting teacher in Bhutanese RefugeeCamp, Nepal. This not only increase my guidingskills, but also helped to develop my skills of communication with peoplewithout hope like myself. Surwat theateris Bhutanese Refugee Camp’s acting organization founded by fifteen teenagers includingmyself. I had the responsibility ofteaching how technology can use on street drama to tackle on human rights andenvironment issues as TRIO tackle on how to help disadvantaged backgroundspeople like me to achieve their educational goal. Street drama were spread to various peopleamong refugee camp and organizations who were helping when I was still in campas TRIO is help me and other people at University of Vermont.
As studding at UVM, I intend to develop mycareer to increase refugee’s capacity to hope, act and use new technology fortackling human right issue but without the help of TRIO I would not achieve.I participated in a Computer Science program at Center for Technology,Essex, where I attained greater awareness on social development by teachingcourses on technology, art, and theater that will benefit refuges lifestyle. I worked with former refugee’s people inWinooski to teach them how to social media and computers and encourage them toshow their art talents. Overseeing such a task gave me extraordinary knowledgeon how straightforward activities can change lives of many refugees as it doesto me with the help of TRIO and worked I did in Winooski.TRIO with the help of VEOP Scholarship has a history ofawarding scholarships to disadvantaged backgrounds people to bring knowledgeand supervision abilities to their communities and disadvantaged backgroundspeople around the world. I have done some of this work however I need toproceed and with VEOP Scholarship and TRIO, I can.
The continues focus of theComputer Science and Theater will give me the necessary skills to address andimprove the life style for refugees around the world through technology andtheater art. I thank VEOP and TRIO for time and thought for this prestigiousaward.
