Task 1:By referring to the motivational theories discussed during our course, describehow you would motivate your team to achieve excellent results within this tightschedule. In order to describe the process of motivating employees during abusy period of time this essay will discuss two theories: Maslow’s hierarchy ofneeds and Herzberg’s two-factor theory of motivation. “In Maslow’s hierarchyneeds are structured into 5 levels: Physical, Security, Social, Self-esteem,and Self-fulfilment” (Rollinson, 2008). Logically the workers would bemotivated by having a higher level of their needs fulfilled, only after thelower level has been satisfied. For instance a worker who is starving will bemotivated to earn just enough money to buy food, before worrying about gettingpromoted or earning recognition and respect in the workplace.
Printing Companyshould therefore offer different incentives to workers in order to help themfulfil each need and move up the hierarchy. Since every employee is unique itis also important to consider that not all of them will be motivated the sameway, and neither will they move up the hierarchy at the same time. Consequentlycompanies should consider offering a different set of incentives from employeeto employee. “Herzberg had close links with Maslow and believed in a two-factortheory of motivation, those factors being motivators and hygiene” (Rollinson,2008). Motivators are factors related to the job which will directly improvethe employee’s motivation if introduced by the business, whereas hygienefactors are those that surround the job and therefore do not directly improvethe employee’s motivation, but would de-motivate them if not present.
Forinstance opportunities for promotion or recognition belong to the group of motivatorswhereas hygiene factors are related to the cleanliness of the workplace. I willtry to motivate my employees by: ? Increasing their wages for 5% ?Offering to pay them 50% more when they have to work overtime ?Promoting those that work the hardest ? Offering a few extra days ofvacation ?Having a special event to chat with one another and have a good time and so on.Task 2: Based on our workplace stress discussions, how would you manage thestress within your company during this period? After this period is shortperiod and my company has produce high-quality products and the demand is verysatisfactory. My orders for the 2017 end-year period have surpassed mypredictions for around 60% and normally who I and my workers have stress butafter we have success in this filed then I must to manage the stress byorganizational characteristics such: relations between colleagues, relationbetween workers-company and organizational policies.
In this period of work isimportant providing alternative working hours such: flexitime, job sharing andtime management giving the workers a short break (smoking, eating, abdominalbreathing, relax) salaries (the worker with long time who work he/she paidmore).Relationship between life-work, for the sake of personal life throughwork stress, then we offer care, for example, the mothers who provide them withorganizational strategies as they are: permission to take the child to work incase of emergency or to cover the expenses for a nanny so that the workerscannot be decommissioned in work for their children, so environment must becommode(temperature in different seasons and to not have noise)becausetemperature and noise affect direct in stress of employees.
