Issecurity an art or a science? Let’s start off with science. Security is somehowapplied to science as well, they develop new ways or ideas to improve asecurity of an object, an area or even a living being.
Like most scientists dothey observe, conceptualize, develop, experiment, and then implement the newmethods of securing. If the newly implemented way of security fails at sometime, it is time to add possibilities and improve the method of security inorder to strengthen the actual security and prevent it from being broken for along time. Security has a lot of challenges, the more valuable the higher thesecurity, the harder for it to be breached. This is my opinion the science ofsecurity.
Asfor art, like most painters, they develop techniques such as the force appliedto the brush to create a deeper intensity of that color. This line hererepresents an area of security which lacks a certain part of the system. Forexample, a security guard without a weapon, yes there are other varieties thatmake a security guard, but one must have a weapon to either send an indirectmessage to people he is guarding a sense of security, or it can be forself-defense and for safety. Layout and visualization is a must like in art.
Insecurity, they can use technology, but they must place it in the most effectiveposition. Therefore, they must visualize it themselves before placing thosemechanisms there. An artist must pay attention to details. For example, anaccidental wrong stroke, usually some may panic on these types of mistakes oraccident.
But for an artist with a calmand collected mind, he or she will find a way; improvise in other terms; to fixthe accident without harming the other details. In security, in case of anaccident, they must remain calm and think what is the best action to do and asmuch as possible avoid making things worse. Inconclusion, security can be both art and science but in different applications, different methods, materials, techniques, implementation, and layout. I willkeep on improving its purpose.
