Disease diagnosis is
a very complex and challenging task. To identify the disease on correct time
and it helps to give the proper treatment. In earlier days disease are diagnose
by the symptoms. But now doctors are diagnose the disease by various
intelligent systems. Thyroid is the most common disease for human being; it is
not a deadly disease. Thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland that is
placed on the bottom of the neck. Thyroid gland
produces over or under production of thyroid hormones, triiodothyronine (T3) and
levothyroxine (T4). T3 and T4 are controlled by thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)
which is produce from brain. Two types of thyroid disease are hypothyroidism and
hyperthyroidism. Hypothyroidism is underactive thyroid it is the reason for
thyroid gland can’t produce enough thyroid hormones and hyperthyroidism is
overactive thyroid it is the reason for thyroid gland can produce more thyroid
hormone. Hypothyroid symptoms include weight
gain, constipation, depression, slowed heart rate, fatigue, dry skin, puff
face, muscle weakness, thinning hair and hyperthyroid symptoms include weight
loss, irregular heartbeat, difficulty sleeping, nervousness, hair loss,
shortness of breath. People taking the right dose
of thyroid medication and have normal thyroid levels, but still suffering from
hypothyroidism. Diagnose the subtypes of hypothyroidism is necessary to
give the accurate result for the patients.
TSH levels are high and T4 and T3 levels are low means overt (primary)
hypothyroidism. Elevated TSH levels and normal T4 levels are
called subclinical hypothyroidism. Normal TSH levels and low T4 levels are
called central hypothyroidism. Data mining classification can be
used to diagnose the subtype’s hypothyroid disease in an efficient way. This
paper proposes to analyze the various classification algorithms which are used
to diagnose the accurate result of hypothyroid and to evaluate their
efficiency, Precision, and Error-Rate.
triiodothyronine (Rt3) is measured by blood test. Liver can constantly convert
the T4 hormone to RT3. It means 40% of T4 goes to T3 and 20% of T4 goes to RT3.
To calculate the RT3 ratio FT3 and RT3 levels are essential. If the ratio is greater
than 20 means no problem, otherwise it makes RT3 problem.
Basal body temperature
is used to diagnose the hypothyroid disease. Take the body temperature in four
consecutive days using mercury thermometer. If the body temperature is less
than 36.5 degree Celsius means it indicate hypothyroidism and TSH level is come
back as 2.0 m U/L or higher.
