In this essay I want to talk about the country India and
city Kerala . I have made this essay to give more information to people that
they will know more about india.the are what I choose is Kerala, in olden days
they used to call it keralam.it is located in the south of India, in the
Malabar coast .this country was formed on November 1 1956 the language they use
in it is called Malayalam, it is bordered with Karnataka to the north and
northeast. Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Lakshadweep Sea to the
west. Kerala is the thirteenth-largest Indian state by population. It is
divided into 14 districts with the capital and the largest city being Thiruvananthapuram.
Tsunamis are the result of earthquakes and can be one of the most deadly
results of such a geological disturbance. Tsunamis are large waves that are
created when an earthquake occurs out at sea. The plates shift and the motion
causes a huge wave that builds up momentum and size as it reaches land masses.
These huge waves, as high as 100 feet can take out buildings, structures and
cause destruction for miles. Many people have become homeless or have lost
family and friends in the furious flood of a tsunami. In my area in 2012 a very
massive tsunami hit Kerala but until know we didn’t have any tsunami. A
light earthquake struck the Idukki region in Kerala, India, on 12 December 2000
at 06:53 AM local time resulting in some damage to property in parts of central
of Mutt am, Kerala. Earthquakes are the result of the movement of
tectonic plates below the surface of the Earth. The plates create a shocking
effect on the land. The shock relates to strength, known as the magnitude, of
the earthquake. Major earthquakes damage structures that may lead to death
while small earthquakes are often barely felt. An earthquake can
affect the land in several ways. When an earthquake hits, it shakes the ground
and causes structures to shake as well. When a structure is old or has not been
properly built to withstand the force of an earthquake, it can collapse,
causing damage to surrounding buildings as well as people. Building collapses
are the main cause of fatalities during and after an earthquake as the shaking
ground rarely causes any deaths in and of itself.
earthquake was centered 1.9 kilometers SE of Mutt am (Kerala), India,

22.5 kilometers W of Idukki (Kerala), India,

Trees were uprooted in villages around the town of Palau
in Idukki district. At Pathanamthitta, a four-storeyed building providing
accommodation to the Yarapa devotees at the famous hill shrine of Sabarimala,
developed cracks all along its walls.
The Kerala red rain phenomenon was a blood rain event that
occurred from 25 July to 23 September 2001, when heavy downpours of red-colored
rain fell sporadically on the southern Indian state of Kerala, staining clothes
pink.1 Yellow, green, and black rain was also reported. Colored rain was also
reported in Kerala in 1896 and several times since, most recently in June 2012,
and from 15 November 2012 to 27 December 2012 in eastern and north-central
provinces of Sri Lanka. Red rain is a rain which is red in color and it
contains polluted air and sulfuric acid which makes an acid rain and also the
pollution of the industries and also all the companies and industries they are
located in Kerala, not all of them only some of them.
